When you order an item from Shorebird, we customise it with the design and the name of your choice. As each item is customised to order, the exact colour and design may have some small variations from what you see on the website. For example, the size and position of text on personalised items will vary depending on the design chosen, size of the garment, the length of the name etc.
How do I wash/care for my item?
As each item has been customised by hand, please treat it delicately - wash cool (inside out is best), do not tumble dry and iron on reverse. If the motif becomes damaged, please discontinue use immediately.
I have a problem with my item, what do I do?
Oh no! Please reach out to us at firstname.lastname@example.org right away and we'll work with you to make it right!
Can I return an item if I dont like it?
Unfortunately we can not accept returns of personalised items unless they are faulty. This does not affect your statutory rights. For more info, please see our Returns Policy.
Do the sizes run big or small?
Our kids wear Shorebird clothes and we've found that the sizes are pretty standard. As a mum, I would suggest sizing up to get as long as you can out of each item!
Is everything organic/recycled?
Nearly all of our products are made from either organic cotton or recycled cotton/polyester. In the meantime, you can see details of the material of each item under the "Product Description".
Tell me about your packaging?
We use either 100% compostable as our default delivery option. These are naturally transparent, so we use a fun tissue paper to keep their contents a mystery.
We are also trialling paper mailing bags this autumn, so watch out for those too.
If you would like your items shipped in a cardboard box, you can select this option at checkout. As the boxes are bigger to transport, they cost a little more.
Will you print anything I request?
We reserve the right to decline to print any text at our discretion without explanation.
Do you make the items?
We do not make the garments and products, instead we carefully source and customise items.
How long does it take?
It usually takes 3-5 days to customise an item and then a further few days for postage. If you need it faster than that, we have two super speedy options:

- Make it right now! (I’ll have it ready within 24hrs of order) €15
I see a local delivery option, how does that work?
We get around locally using our cargo bike and we will deliver to most Greystones addresses (eircodes beginning A63) by pedal power (weather and kids' naps permitting!).
Has your child grown out of their personalised item? No problem, why not do a shout out on social media to find a child with the same name or make it into a memory pillow to keep forever.
